TUNNEL NEUROPATHIES IN PRIMARY HYPOTHYROIDISM

Abstract
In the Department of Endocrinology and Neurology of Andijan State Medical Institute, 78 patients with primary hypothyroidism aged 18 to 59 years were examined for tunnel neuropathies depending on gender. It was found that tunnel neuropathies were a frequent syndrome of lesions of the peripheral nervous system in primary hypothyroidism. They were multiple in natures with the involvements of the upper limb nerves in the pathological process. The clinical picture was dominated by sensory disturbances. The severity and frequency of occurrence of tunnel syndromes in female patients were significantly more frequent and more pronounced than in male patients.
